Spare Parts

I think I have finally crossed the line from artistic entrepreneur to junk collector.  You need a rubber band?  What color?  What size? How many?  How old? `  I’m sure I have more than one of what you want.

I have loved antiques and old photos from a very young age.  Now though, I may be hooked on glass.   It appears I have a fetish for bottles and jars.  Any size, any shape it don’t matter!   “I can’t throw this pickle jar away!  I know I will need it someday!  Somebody else may need it someday!  It might be a collector’s item someday!  Look at how tight the lid closes! ”  (I’m making my own self laugh here as I put this in print!) 😄

What’s the harm?  Junk.  The appearance of junk I suppose.  I am spooked by that T.V. show of people who hoard things.  The world calls them hoarders.  Now I am nowhere near becoming a hoarder.  I do see that hoarders have serious trouble a brewin’  upstairs, don’t get me wrong.  But, I also see the value in their stash.  The possibilities are limitless!  Back in the day, it was referred to as a junkyard or a salvage yard.  Remember the T.V. show Sanford and Son?  It’ was an American sitcom, from the mid 70’s about a widowed junk dealer named Fred Sanford,  living in South Central L.A.   He sold right out of his house.  People came to his home to buy his spare parts and whatnot.  Now they come to your home to condemn it if it looks too “junky”.

Supposedly, “junk” is such a provocative subject  matter for today, that there’s a movie coming out soon about it titled, Spare Parts.  (Starring one of  my fav guys, George Lopez.)  So, why didn’t they title the movie “Junk”?   Not glamorous enough I’m guessing.  Not theater friendly.  Spare parts just sounds nicer to the ear?  That’s Hollywood for you.  Only they know how to make millions on “junk”, and that’s o.k.

It’s all in the eye of the beholder.  Spare parts, junk, glass bottles, bubble gum wrappers…..you name it!  Still, the possibilities are limitless!

So go have some fun.  Go see the movie!  Sounds like a movie with a happy ending.  I simply LOVE happy endings.  And don’t forget to have some fun with the spare parts and so-called junk in your life.  Who cares what the world thinks?  Who knows?  You might be another “Einstein” in the making.  💕

Bring it! ‼️

Again, “Who cares what the world thinks?”  I say “Bring it!”  Woohoo!💕
